Children with Burkitt’s Lymphoma

For many years a dedicated group of supporters have been knitting dolls, blankets and other goods for children in Uganda.

Some of these smiling children have Burkitt’s lymphoma an aggressive cancer commonly found in regions where malaria is endemic. It often results in huge swellings around the face.

Many children come late to diagnosis and treatment is limited. Palliative care is essential. Others have lost parents and family to other forms of cancer and now need support. The knitted dolls provide a distraction and some comfort to young children who are often lonely and frightened.
